The Munnade organisation conducted a workshop on domestic violence, attended by 30 women garment workers. Led by Mrs. Sumithra, a family court advocate, and Mrs. Yashodha, the General Secretary, the workshop aimed to educate workers about the Domestic Violence Act. This legislation provides a comprehensive definition of domestic violence, encompassing physical, emotional/verbal, sexual, and economic abuse. Workers learned to recognise various forms of domestic violence they may face, such as grabbing, pinching, and hitting, aligning with the Act’s categories.
