One-Day Training Program on Labour Law Reforms

The training occurred on September 20, 2020, at Hotel Shri Krishna Nandagokula in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Bengaluru. Here are the topics covered: a. A comparison between the previous and new laws. b. The process of framing the previous laws involved democratic procedures, extensive debates, discussions, and consensus-building. c. The strengths of the previous laws. d. The changes in the laws, their pro-employer nature, and the adverse effects on workers. e. The enactment of the Four Labour Codes through ordinances without adequate discussion and consensus-building. f. The strategies employed to expedite the passage of three of the four Labour Codes through ordinances during the Covid-19 pandemic. g. The absence of resistance from opposition parties, which have become weak, was utilised to push through the labour reforms.
