Dr. Shobha G, M.Sc., Ph.D., is a distinguished educator, counsellor, nutritionist, and life skills and wellness coach. She currently serves as Director in the Department of Collegiate Education, Bengaluru. A gold medallist in M.Sc. from Bangalore University, she completed her Ph.D. in Human Development and has over 30 years of teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
She has held several key leadership positions, including Additional Director and Joint Director (Academics) in the Department of Collegiate Education, as well as Director of the School of Home Science at Maharani Cluster University. A regular columnist for Vijaya Karnataka and Prajavani, and a frequent speaker on various television channels, she has conducted over 1,000 awareness programmes on parenting, education, health, mental well-being, life skills, and workplace issues, reaching more than one lakh people.
Dr. Shobha serves on POSH committees, advises preschools and NGOs, and has been a resource person for schools, colleges, public sector undertakings, and government bodies. Her contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic—particularly in promoting emotional well-being and teacher training—were widely appreciated.
She has received several prestigious awards, including the Susheela Lingaiah Gold Medal, Shiksha Rathna Puraskar, and the Rotary Women Achiever Award. She continues to be a respected and influential voice in education and community wellness.
