About the Program:

Munnade supports the children of women garment workers through education, care, and holistic development. Our Care and Support Centres provide after-school learning, nutritious meals, and regular health check-ups, while community-based remedial centres help bridge learning gaps and prevent school dropouts. We also empower mothers through parenting sessions, strengthening their involvement in their children’s education. In addition, we train educators to provide tailored support, ensuring both academic progress and emotional well-being. Through these efforts, Munnade creates a nurturing environment in which children can learn and grow.

Care and Support Centre

Munnade’s Care and Support Centres (CSCs) operate two centres to support the children of women garment workers. The Byatarayanapura centre serves the children of local workers, while the Gorguntepalya centre focuses on the children of migrant garment workers. Both centres provide a safe and nurturing environment with after-school support, nutritious meals, regular health check-ups, and secure spaces for learning and play. They also offer counselling and skill-building activities to support children’s emotional and personal growth, thereby easing the care burden on working mothers.

Community-Based Remedial Centres

Munnade runs community-based remedial academic centres in Chokkasandra, Nandini Layout, Shivpura, and Bangarappa Nagar to support the education of children, including those of women garment workers. These centres provide supplementary academic assistance to bridge learning gaps and improve school performance. They focus on enhancing literacy and numeracy, offering additional learning support, creating a safe environment, and reducing dropout rates.

Empowering Parents for Child Development and Education

Munnade organizes parenting meetings for mothers of garment workers’ children to enhance their involvement in education and well-being. These sessions address parenting challenges, communication, and learning support. Interactive discussions and activities help parents with discipline, study habits, and emotional well-being

Teacher Training for CSC Educators

Munnade trains educators in its Care and Support Centre (CSC) to enhance teaching skills and support students facing academic and personal challenges. The program covers interactive teaching methods, literacy and numeracy, classroom management, and inclusive learning. Educators learn to address the needs of vulnerable children, ensuring their academic and emotional well-being.
